CareWindow Platform Research & Development
The Challenge
People who have limited dexterity, eyesight and/or cognitive impairments are not well served by current digital communication technology which can be difficult to use for somebody with sequencing difficulties or difficulty pressing buttons. A feeling of isolation and loneliness can be common in care environments despite the availability of modern technology and dedicated care staff.
Our Role
JAC is responsible for the invention, design and creation of the CareWindow platform, backed by deep research into digital communication enhancement and the benefits of human connection to improve individual wellbeing.
The Build
JAC has designed and produced a specialised hardware appliance, coupling this with a software platform containing customised video and audio compression algorithms. We began with open source technology and incorporated intelligent, predictive features to result improved verbal and visual recognition at both ends of the conversation.
Moving Forward
JAC continues to deepen its research into verbal and visual recognition enhancement, combining this with a practical device intended to fill the societal need for accessible, affordable digital communication technology in care environments.
